Why Classical?

“Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence.” ~Maria Montessori

On this page you will find links to a collection of our authors’ thoughts on homeschooling in a traditional classical style. We have taken our cues from the great thinkers who’ve come before us, and truly we “stand on the shoulders of giants.” Here you will see Apryl’s thoughts on the importance of classical education in today’s world, Jennifer’s on how well classical education lends itself to customization, and Cheryl’s on the central place of Latin in the classical homeschool, as well as the wisdom of many others.

“True education is a kind of never ending story — a matter of continual beginnings, of habitual fresh starts, of persistent newness.” ~J. R. R. Tolkien
